About the role
- Provide leadership to all plant personnel, conducting periodic reviews of procedures to ensure understanding of plant goals and industry standards
- Foster a positive, respectful, and productive workplace culture in a union-represented environment
- Maintain a safe working environment and cultivate a culture of safety awareness among all personnel
- Administer the plant's Safety, Operations, Maintenance, NERC Compliance, Administrative, Training, Chemistry, and Environmental QA/QC programs
- Employ best techniques and prudent utility practices to enhance profitability
- Develop and implement staffing, training, and qualification plans for all O&M phases
- Manage planned and unplanned plant outages, optimizing schedules to increase production efficiency
- Administer project agreements including O&M, energy supply, service, fuel purchase, power sales, and interconnection agreements
- Direct or perform all commercial activities at the plant level, including budgeting and procurement
- Prepare and submit required environmental and regulatory reports
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent
- Relevant industry or military experience in lieu of education on a year-for-year basis may be considered
- Experience as a Plant Manager at a natural gas-fired combined cycle power generation plant preferred
- Prior experience in a supervisory leadership role overseeing technical, supervisory, and hourly personnel
- Technical proficiency in plant operations and maintenance
- 1+ years of experience with safety regulations and environmental compliance
- Solid financial knowledge with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license in good standing
