About the role
- Manage and ensure effective day-to-day administration of physical security operations and access control operations of the Security Force for the Company
- Make recommendations of appropriate and required security measures and techniques and methods to assure and improve the protection of property, personnel, activities and facilities
- Lead a security team in executing complex security planning, setting objectives and meeting milestones
- Interfaces with local, state and Federal law enforcement and other agencies
- Ensures that the physical security standards are defined and maintained to achieve compliance with regulatory directives and company and local policies and procedures
- Conducts self-assessments and observations to determine effectiveness of the physical security processes and to identify areas for improvement
- Enforce company/site specific policies and procedures
- Assist the Training Coordinator with emergency situation scenario development
- Leads and performs training presentations of lessons learned and best practices
- Participation in the armed force behavior observation program specific to the site or sites for work
- Carry a weapon for armed force response on a daily or routine basis
- Maintain qualification for all assigned weapon systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work/military experience
- 7-10 years’ experience in security, law enforcement, military, with 3-5 in a senior position
- Diversified experience in security principles, practices, and techniques
- Must be able to effectively solve problems ranging from employee relations to breaches in security protocol
- Ability to make independent decisions to ensure the security function is meeting company and regulatory requirements
- Must maintain security force grooming standards
- Valid state drivers licenses
- Valid state licensure where applicable
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment and regulatory required background investigations to include: criminal, traffic, fingerprint records check, work references, and education history
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
