About the role
- Help reduce the number of duplicate entries to a minimum
- Update missing required attributes
- Review stale entries and identify retired devices or any discovery opportunities
- Review configuration item changes on a daily basis
- Improve information from various teams as needed for each asset class
- Identify gaps in configuration items and assist the support teams fix the gaps
- Ensure retired devices are reflected as such in the inventory
- Work on tickets assigned to Asset Management
- Participate in change meetings and ensure CMDB data is updated for moves, decommissions, upgrades, and other changes in general to hardware
- Add and/or modify Discovery schedules and schedule maintenance change requests
- Manage contracts in ServiceNow
- Assist with creating hardware assets or submit requests for bulk upload / update
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of IT support experience required.
- No certifications required.
- Proficient in understanding the basics of hardware asset management and the CMDB
- Must be capable of managing varied assignments and working independently and in a group.
- Attention to detail highly desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
