About the role

  • Innovation Engineer_ AI & Automation– Contract 1 yr. Remote position Employees in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating cutting-edge innovation and pilot projects. Select and explore diverse subject areas, define project scope, and implement novel concepts. Technologies of interest include solar PV, energy storage, transmission, and wind. Subject matter expert (SME) of innovation in assigned subject areas Manage projects without direct reports Research, develop, and implement appropriate automation and other tools to optimize processes Collaborate with and lead multi-disciplinary teams of internal and external industry subject matter experts for problem solving, betterment opportunities, and systems integration Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define the strategic roadmap and drive digital innovation Understand industry trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies Write and maintain production level code in Python, R, SQL, etc. Design, prototype, and test solutions to energy-related scientific and mathematical problems Support and foster innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of integrated IT environments and cloud architecture, as well as modern software development and deployment practices Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to manage change and drive transformation within a large organization Experience utilizing APIs following industry best practices Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL Cloud & DevOps proficiency Experience with LLM integration, RAG, and prompt engineering Experience with agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, or similar) Proficient with code repositories like Github Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or related field from an ABET accredited program Bachelor’s Degree Experience: 5+ years Preferred: Doctoral Degree with 3+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience Preferred Experience with PowerApps/Power Automate Proficiency in VBA Background in detailed analysis of complex systems involving large datasets
