About the role
- Director of Global Payments Partnerships to lead strategy and execution across both funds-in and funds-out payment networks
- Manage a global team of partnership managers, driving the sourcing, solutioning, integration, and operational oversight of payment partnerships
- Prioritize and guide the partnerships team, overseeing efforts related to scorecarding, performance management, and strategic sourcing in close collaboration with regional business and product leaders
- Your leadership will ensure a high-performing partnership ecosystem that supports seamless, secure, and scalable customer experiences across markets
- As a senior leader within the global Payments Product organization, you will shape initiatives that deliver innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage, grounded in market trends, partner capabilities, and business goals
- Your contributions will be critical to building a best-in-class global remittance payments platform, reinforcing Western Union’s position as a leader in fast, reliable, and customer-centric cross-border payments
- Role Responsibilities: Responsible for leading a team of partnerships managers tasked with performance management, strategic sourcing, and operational oversight of Western Union’s payments partners
- Own partner negotiations including commercial agreements, integrations, and co-marketing plans
- Collaborate with region, channel, and product teams to turn partnerships into revenue and growth
- Continuously educates the partnerships team, as well as internal and external stakeholders on the vision, mission, current and desired future state of our products and platforms
- Measure and optimize the impact of partnerships across a developed set of KPIs, including performance, cost and scalability
- Prepares executive reporting around KPIs and OKRs
- Is responsible for the performance of our partnerships teams, incorporates short and longer-term professional development goals on the team and team member level
- Sets an example of living Western Union’s values around engagement and inclusion
- Acts as a change agent and driver of innovation
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience of product management experience in Financial Services, preferably payments and 5+ years of experience managing teams
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in business or engineering
- Product Management Skills: demonstrated product management skills including strategic and tactical product management, working knowledge of agile methodologies, change management, end-to-end PDLC
- Project Management Skills: demonstrated project management skills including the ability to create a project plan, planning and coordinating, organization, adaptability, and execution
- Communication Skills: Excellent writing and communication skills
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven problem-solving skills, a robust technological background, and an understanding of business processes
