About the role
- Professionally represent Western Steel Buildings and understand company mission and guiding questions
- Sell and manage new Western Steel Buildings projects from initial client contact through construction and completion
- Eligible to sell and manage buildings 5,000+ square feet in specific markets
- Work with the National Sales Manager to implement strategies for increased sales in assigned territory
- Be knowledgeable about all facets of steel buildings from design to completion, including steel erection and concrete work
- Be proficient in technical aspects: reading blueprints, site planning, snow load, wind load, and related specifications
- Demonstrate proficiency in construction processes: breaking ground, site work, foundation design, electrical planning, HVAC, fire sprinklers, insulated panels, mezzanines, hangar doors, curtain walls, custom finishes, etc.
- Proactively identify and establish relationships with potential clients and manage existing customer relationships
- Respond to written/email inquiries received before noon by end of business day; return unanswered phone calls within 60 minutes
- Draft purchase orders for management approval, follow up, collect deposits, and draft uniform design approval documentation
- Use internal metal building design software and finalize building designs with clients
- Add value by selling recommended accessories and coordinating installation
- Partner with the service team to facilitate building fabrication, delivery, and installation
- Coordinate referral client inquiries and collect/solicit client reviews after delivery and installation are complete
- Travel as required (~40%)
Requirements
- APPLICANTS MUST BE SITTING IN INDIANA STATE
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in account management, business development, or sales within the construction industry, preferably with metal buildings or related products/services
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and meet targets
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant sales tools
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, site planning, snow load, wind load, and related technical aspects
- Knowledge of steel erection, concrete work, foundation design, electrical planning, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, insulated panel systems, and other construction systems
- Familiarity with multiple steel building applications (industrial, commercial, equestrian, oilfield, indoor agricultural, aviation, etc.)
- Ability to travel approximately 40%
