About the role
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert within the Enterprise Data & Analytics domain and related fields
- Ensure that Master Data Management (MDM) and data engineering solutions adhere to standards of safety, security, compliance, and reliability
- Design, develop, and implement key components of the enterprise data platform in alignment with Western Alliance Bank’s strategic data and analytics goals
- Assess development and support needs, assume accountability for extensive design initiatives, and play an essential role in delivering successful project outcomes
- Collaborate directly with business data stewards, analysts, engineers, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and shape the objectives of enterprise data solutions
- Lead a high-performing, centralized team of engineers, analysts, and QA engineers
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of MDM solutions using Profisee
- Develop and implement data quality rules and processes within Profisee to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Diagnose and resolve long-running processes, as well as memory and CPU performance concerns
- Address and correct scheduling inefficiencies within the system
- Design and implement Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to facilitate the deployment of Profisee deliverables
- Participate in the full MDM implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
- Design and implement end-to-end ETL and data pipeline solutions managing the full data lifecycle for Western Alliance Bank and partner systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience with MDM solutions using Profisee or any other MDM tools
- 3+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud data solutions; Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Services, Azure Logic Apps etc.
- Bachelor's degree in related field required; Masters or MBA in related field preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Expert level experience with at least one RDBMS and query language such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL
- Expert level experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data design
- Certifications within Azure such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Scientist, and/or Azure DevOps Engineer preferred
- Familiarity with multi-cloud data management and transformation platforms or tools such as Databricks, Snowflake etc.
- Experience integrating with data quality, data catalog and data lineage tools preferred
- Advanced to expert knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred
- Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, and practices
- Advanced to expert experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously with an established expertise in one or more key domains of the bank (Deposits, Loans, Operations or Reporting) with the ability to walk-through top-level process design
- Capable of working with regulatory partners like the CFPB, OCC and FRB through audits and collaboration efforts as situations arise
- Advanced to expert familiarity with the capability model across IT and the applications and infrastructures available for engagement in solutioning across the bank to develop results that leverage existing capabilities in addition to implementing new solutions when required
- Experience in design, enhancement, and compliance to all governance frameworks across the IT organization to ensure proper compliance to published procedures and standards
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
