About the role
- Site-related procurement of local plant supplies, CapEx, spare parts, services, and maintenance
- Analysis and strong knowledge of the local procurement market for goods and services with respect to the supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends, and cost drivers
- Participation in regional and global procurement projects
- Collaboration with local and global teams and suppliers to support the development and implementation of strategies
- Optimization of total costs for the German sites, including development and implementation of cost-saving programs with specific suppliers
- Supplier management, including developing and maintaining an effective supplier evaluation program
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of procurement plans and best practices
- Independently negotiating and drafting individual and framework agreements as well as awarding related purchase orders
- Identifying and assessing risks and benefits of procurement decisions and clearly presenting proposals for risk mitigation
- Contributing to the annual budgeting process by providing reliable cost breakdowns and realistic forecasts
Requirements
- University degree or, alternatively, commercial vocational training with extensive relevant experience in strategic procurement
- Many years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally within an internationally operating manufacturing company
- Strong experience in supplier and contract management
- Good knowledge of SAP (MM) and MS Office
- Excellent German and English language skills
- Team player who enjoys collaborating with both direct and indirect colleagues
- Experience in cross-functional projects
- Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented working style
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
