About the role
- Site-related procurement of local plant supplies, CapEx, spare parts, services, as well as maintenance and repair activities
- Analysis and strong understanding of the local procurement market for goods and services regarding supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends, and cost drivers
- Participation in regional and global sourcing projects
- Collaboration with local and global teams and suppliers to support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
- Optimization of total cost of ownership (TCO) for German sites, including the development and implementation of cost-saving programs with specific suppliers
- Supplier management, including the creation and maintenance of an effective supplier evaluation program
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of procurement plans and best practices
- Independent negotiation and preparation of individual and framework agreements as well as awarding contracts
- Identification and assessment of risks and benefits of procurement decisions, along with clear presentation of risk mitigation proposals
- Contribution to the annual budgeting process by providing reliable cost estimates and realistic forecasts
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree or alternatively commercial training with several years of relevant experience in strategic procurement
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally within an internationally operating manufacturing company
- Strong experience in supplier and contract management
- Proficient user of SAP (MM) and MS Office applications
- Excellent German (C1) and English language skills required
- Team player who enjoys working with both direct and indirect colleagues
- Experience in cross-functional projects
- Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills at all organizational levels.
