About the role
- Participate in West Bend's 2026 Summer Data Solution Engineering Internship Program solving real business problems
- Work with a group of Data Solution Engineers to deliver solution-based data assets for Actuarial and Product Management
- Build pricing/rate-making data sets for predictive modeling, rate indication assets for Actuarial teams, and portfolio management data sets
- Receive training and establish proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SAS, SQL Server, Python and/or Microsoft PowerBI
- Pair with a mentor to learn professional habits and grow into a Data Solution Engineer
- Participate in a community service project
Requirements
- Experience working with some type of coding language
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Desire to learn, explore and discover
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to complete project-related tasks and meet deadlines
- Students enrolled in a Computer Science, Engineering or IT related program
- Willingness to be trained in Snowflake, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SAS, SQL Server, Python and/or Microsoft PowerBI
- Willingness/ability to work from the office in Madison, Wisconsin
