About the role
- Work collaboratively with the business areas in a fast-paced agile environment to define business problems quantitively
- Develop predictive models to predict risk better
- Distill value from internal or third-party data
- Hands-on experience with insurance risk models, data visualization, model development/testing using generalized linear models and other data mining techniques
- Perform related cost-benefit analyses
- Complete project-related tasks and meet deadlines
- Position will work from the office in Madison
Requirements
- Pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Data Science related major
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Students enrolled in a Data Scientist related program
- Strong quantitative/analytical skills
- Excellent programming skills using Python, R, and SQL
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to complete project-related tasks and meet deadlines
