About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Providing administrative and technical support to the Legal Department – Claims Team as well as to General Counsel
  • Develops and maintains systems/applications to meet the needs of the Legal Department
  • Performs data collection, compilation, reporting and distribution
  • General legal assistant functions including arranging for payment of invoices and settlements
  • Oversee and report data in CMS (Claims Management System)
  • Create various reports and collect specific information from CMS system for Discovery on claims and other reports
  • Prepares special reports or information into PC generated reports from actuaries and reviews them for accuracy
  • Reviews, facilitates and directs payment of invoices and settlement checks with internal and/ or external resources
  • Complete Medicare reporting and audits to ensure Company Compliance with Federal Regulations
  • Operates general office equipment and copying equipment
  • Performs research of files and routine computer research as required
  • Provide Notary services on legal documents
  • Provide information and coordinates activities with various internal and external sources
  • Handles confidential information and materials

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree in business administration or legal studies or related field preferred or equivalent work experience required
  • 3 ~ 5 years of Direct experience in a legal administrative or support role required
  • Prior experience supporting litigation functions in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint skills
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Intermediate level system(s) skills in experience with legal case management systems, document management systems, and general office technology
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively while maintaining confidentiality; bilingual capabilities a plus
