About the role
- Lead and supervise accounting personnel, including external resources as needed, to achieve departmental goals.
- Develop and deliver monthly reports and dashboards in collaboration with IT, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development for team members.
- Conduct finance and system training for accounting staff and broader finance teams.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close and global consolidation activities.
- Maintain and document internal controls across general accounting processes, including financial close, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Oversee global intercompany accounting to ensure proper elimination during consolidation.
- Support financial reporting requirements, including internal management reports and statutory filings.
- Manage accounting integration for acquisitions/divestitures, including intercompany transactions and legal entity changes.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within corporate accounting; promote best practices, lean standards, and automation.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and support the development and implementation of accounting policies.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Tax department to ensure accurate accounting for income taxes under ASC 740.
- Manage quarterly revenue deferral processes for North America in coordination with business units and customer service teams.
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors regarding accounting matters.
- Present in finance meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Lead and participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience required.
- CPA certification or Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
- 3+ years of experience in technical accounting, acquisition integration, or system implementation preferred.
- Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Initiative-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and change management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to present effectively in small and large groups.
- High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset; proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards Financials, Planning Analytics, and Power BI.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
