About the role
- Reports to the Corporate Controller and oversees the corporate accounting function across global entities.
- Manage global accounting operations including consolidation, eliminations, and intercompany accounting.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close and global consolidation activities.
- Manage corporate accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting and statutory filings.
- Lead financial systems initiatives, process improvements, automation, and training programs for the accounting team.
- Lead and supervise accounting personnel (including external resources) and provide coaching, performance management, and development.
- Develop and deliver monthly reports and dashboards in collaboration with IT, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain and document internal controls across general accounting processes.
- Manage accounting integration for acquisitions/divestitures including legal entity changes and intercompany transactions.
- Collaborate with Corporate Tax to ensure accurate accounting for income taxes under ASC 740.
- Manage quarterly revenue deferral processes for North America in coordination with business units and customer service teams.
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors and present in finance meetings and training sessions.
- Lead and participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience required.
- CPA certification or Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
- 3+ years of experience in technical accounting, acquisition integration, or system implementation preferred.
- Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Initiative-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and change management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to present effectively in small and large groups.
- High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset; ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices; familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards Financials, Planning Analytics, and Power BI.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, consolidations, accruals, financial reporting, and ASC 740 collaboration with tax.
- Ability to support internal and external audits and manage acquisition/divestiture accounting.
