About the role

  • Provide day-to-day line management for assigned project management team members, ensuring they are resourced appropriately and supported in their roles.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and objective-setting in line with company processes.
  • Monitor workload and capacity across team members, escalating resourcing needs as appropriate.
  • Support onboarding and training of new hires and identify ongoing development needs for existing staff.
  • Ensure the project management team members are executing projects in accordance with WEP Clinical SOPs, policies, and applicable regulations (e.g., GCP, GMP/GDP).
  • Promote adherence to company standards for project planning, budgeting, reporting, and client communication.
  • Act as a first-line escalation point for operational issues raised by PMs, collaborating with leadership to resolve or reassign as needed.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Training to ensure consistent application of WEP Clinical tools and systems (e.g., eTMF, CTMS).
  • Collaborate with other functional managers to support cross-functional alignment and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of departmental SOPs, working practices, templates, and training resources.
  • Support Senior Leadership by generating or contributing to team performance metrics and departmental updates.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented, and supportive team culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in a health or science field preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a CRO or clinical research organization, ideally in Expanded Access Programs or late-phase/post-approval programs.
  • 2+ years of experience as a line manager with direct reports
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring staff; formal line management experience strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of clinical project delivery, including regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with clinical systems such as eTMF and CTMS.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide others.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of GxP, GCP, ICH, and global regulatory considerations in clinical research.
