About the role
- Provide high-quality nursing care in patients' homes supporting clinical research studies.
- Administer investigational medications, conduct assessments, collect vitals and specimens per protocol.
- Ensure protocol compliance, thorough documentation, and patient safety during study visits.
- Perform medical tests (vitals, ECGs), process and ship specimens as required by protocol.
- Receive orientation and training before assignments; compensated for training, travel, and documentation.
- Drive up to 1–2 hours to patient homes in the Louisville, Kentucky area (travel time compensated).
Requirements
- Use your own vehicle to visit patients, typically within 1–2 hours of your location.
- PRN / per diem availability; work only when projects are available in your area.
- Deliver competent, high-quality nursing care to study patients in their homes.
- Ensure compliance with study protocols through thorough review and documentation at each visit.
- Administer investigational medications/products as needed and perform patient assessments; notify Principal Investigator of findings/issues.
- Perform medical tests per protocol (vital signs, specimen collection, electrocardiograms); process and ship specimens.
- Provide patient education on medication dosage, administration, and disease treatment.
- Adhere to clinical research policies to ensure ethical conduct and protect vulnerable populations.
- Communicate effectively and promote open, trusting relationships with patients.
