About the role
- Proofread and edit content that has already been localized into your native language
- Identify errors in content including grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, culturally or politically insensitive language, inconsistencies, and extra spaces between words or characters
- Translate content from English into your native language
- Review user interfaces for functional and localization-related issues
- Execute test cases, identify localization bugs, report them via an internal bug-tracking system, and verify fixes once implemented
Requirements
- Valid visa to work in the USA
- Native-level fluency in the target language (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation)
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Experience working in translation/localization
- Tech-savvy, with experience testing web-based systems and applications on macOS and iOS
- Ability to prioritize linguistic issues and distinguish between must-fix problems and nice-to-have improvements
- Experience working with test cases and test scripts
- Experience with bug-tracking systems
- Ability to clearly articulate reproduction steps for issues and communicate critical information
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work effectively with very diverse teams
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including weekends and national/federal holidays
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team ethic
