About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the sales leader of the branch, acquiring, deepening, and retaining customer relationships
- Drive growth in primary checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing branch team
- Establish expectations and manage performance through targeted coaching
- Identify customer financial needs and deliver tailored consumer and business solutions
- Use observation, feedback, reporting, and follow-up to improve banker productivity and team performance
- Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales partners
- Educate customers about digital banking options
- Balance growth objectives with operational risk management, compliance, loss prevention, and customer protection
- Resolve issues, make talent decisions, and model risk-aware behaviors
- Complete the Branch Manager Readiness Program before transitioning into the Branch Manager position, unless already serving as a Wells Fargo Branch Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time in the assigned geography during the first 6 months and before branch placement
- SAFE registration required at the time of employment
- Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements
- Compliance with Wells Fargo standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background
- Successful completion of the Branch Manager Readiness Program is required for transition into the Branch Manager position, unless currently serving as a Wells Fargo Branch Manager
- Ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports
- Ability to lead a customer-focused sales culture and drive measurable growth
- Ability to analyze performance and execute action plans
- Independent judgment and critical thinking skills
- Experience managing and coaching across affluent, high net worth, and business customer segments
- Knowledge of banking laws, regulations, compliance controls, operational risk management, and loss prevention
