About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the end-to-end development of a greenfield platform from initial concept through production deployment
  • Build and scale the engineering team
  • Define the path to production and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery aligned with product vision
  • Manage, coach, and develop engineers and less experienced managers
  • Engage with architects and experienced engineers on technical strategies and domain architecture
  • Serve as the technical representative during cross-team collaboration and planning
  • Support scrum masters and teams by making decisions and removing impediments
  • Build engineering skills in the codebase and conduct peer reviews
  • Guide design and ensure security, stability, and scalability
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners on user satisfaction, technology requirements, priorities, and product roadmap
  • Promote innovative solutions and agile and DevOps practices
  • Manage people and financial resources, career development, and performance management
  • Hire, mentor, and guide direct reports' talent development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience
  • Experience with greenfield platform builds or large-scale platform modernization initiatives
  • Background in data platforms, distributed systems, or enterprise application ecosystems
  • Success building platforms or products from concept to production
  • Experience driving cross-functional alignment across engineering, product, and operations teams
  • Strong experience managing complex delivery programs with tight timelines and dependencies
  • Hands-on understanding of modern platform engineering practices, including cloud platforms, CI/CD, DevOps, microservices, and data platforms
  • Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements in large enterprises
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Availability for on-call support
  • Flexibility to work ad-hoc shifts when required
  • Must be located at a required location in Charlotte, North Carolina or Irving, Texas
  • Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
