About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead complex engineering initiatives within assigned technology domains
Design, develop, test, and implement applications, services, and system components using modern software engineering practices
Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, observability, and proactive risk mitigation
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and reduce operational cost
Resolve complex coding, testing, and production issues
Lead teams to ensure compliance, security, and risk management requirements are met
Partner with risk, governance, and control stakeholders to implement key initiatives
Mentor and coach software engineers and promote engineering best practices
Collaborate with and influence peers, managers, and cross-functional partners
Partner with production support and platform engineering teams to ensure operational stability

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
5+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise-scale backend systems using Java and modern backend frameworks and architectures, such as Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems
3+ years of experience with event-driven architecture, such as Apache Kafka or Confluent platforms
2+ years of experience deploying and running applications on container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
2+ years of experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases such as SQL Server or MongoDB
Experience building or integrating Generative AI-enabled solutions, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation and agentic workflows
Experience in enterprise or solution architecture
Experience working with AI MCPs and agents
Experience applying Domain Driven Design principles
Hands-on experience with GenAI developer tools such as GitHub Copilot
Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and enterprise-grade agentic workflows
Experience integrating large language models and APIs, including RESTful API design
Experience working in Agile software development environments using tools such as GitHub, Jira, Jenkins, and Confluence
Experience with React.js or other modern frontend frameworks
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
