About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of automation experience in a mainframe environment
- 4+ years of hands-on development experience with mainframe systems
- Working in Mainframe Environment: IBM z/OS systems and associated utilities/tools (e.g., CICS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, File-AID, Abend-Aid,)
- Mainframe Tools: CA7 (Scheduling), Endeavor, REXX and Easytrieve
- Hand on experience with CA7 scheduler job automation
- Hands on experience debugging independently
- Strong understanding of batch job processes
- Hands on experience in creating modern tech stack automation frameworks
- COBOL development
- Experience with REXX, SORT utilities, and creating JCL’s
- Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into technical design specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analysts, testers, operations) throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, bugs, and production incidents in a timely manner
- DB2, VSAM, IMS DB/DC (experience may vary by company)
- Ability to work at enterprise level and communicate in large forums
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Hogan knowledge and hands on development Hogan IDS, Hogan CIS, Hogan Umbrella, Hogan Deposits, Hogan RPM
- IT PM experience or skills – nice to have
- Banking experience
