Key responsibilities & impact

Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
Design and certify next generation database technologies, including AI-enabled database platforms and automation frameworks
Leverage AI-assisted tools to automate routine database operations such as health checks, patching validation, performance tuning recommendations, and incident triage
Utilize predictive analytics and machine learning insights to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and failure risks
Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
Provide technical leadership and recommendations into the future direction of database technology, including adoption of AI-driven database management solutions
Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices, incorporating intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle for large-scale distributed database technology projects and migrations
4+ years of MS SQL server experience
4+ years of experience writing Microsoft SQL Server relational database queries, stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning
3+ years of experience working with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of data replication and recovery strategies including Mirroring, Log Shipping, Availability Groups
