About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and execute on WelbeHealth’s employment legal strategy in support of a diverse workforce and multi-state operations, as well as serve as the lead legal advisor on all employment litigation and pre-litigation matters from intake through resolution
  • Manage all claims and disputes brought by third parties, as well as oversee sensitive internal investigations involving employee complaints and regulatory exposure
  • Maintain current knowledge of key federal and state employment law, as well as provide legal advice on federal and state employment regulatory matters
  • Develop and implement strategies and tools designed to minimize employment-related litigation risk
  • Draft employment related documents, such as policies, separation agreements, and arbitration agreements, as well as lead employment-law readiness for entry into new states
  • Support training initiatives for team members on compliance, risk awareness and preventative practices
  • Work directly with outside counsel on issues requiring specialized legal consultation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • J.D. from an accredited institution; state bar passage and in good standing
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney (law firm and in-house experience are strongly preferred)
  • Significant knowledge of relevant employment laws
  • Proven ability to lead complex litigation and negotiations with minimum oversight
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and identify legal issues and develop strategies and solutions to address such issues
  • Experience leading in a data-driven organization, leveraging reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects
  • Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime
