About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review production schedules, routings, workflows, and process specifications to support manufacturing operations and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Assist in designing, analyzing, and implementing manufacturing processes that improve productivity, quality, and safety while reducing waste.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and help develop systems that optimize the use of labor, materials, equipment, information, and energy.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering principles to optimize workflows, eliminate waste, and improve process efficiency.
- Conduct time studies, performance analysis, and KPI tracking to identify improvement opportunities and monitor results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues related to labor efficiency, quality, safety, and ergonomics.
- Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Design, support, and implement improvements in process flow, equipment layout, and facility arrangements.
- Prepare reports, metrics, and presentations to communicate process status, findings, and improvement proposals to management.
- Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality) to support production and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, supporting audits and operational requirements.
- Support and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S activities and preventive maintenance programs.
- Research and contribute to the development of new or improved manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Provide clear work instructions and support successful implementation of process changes on the shop floor.
- Support additional departmental and operational needs as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering degree or equivalent related work experience.
- 1+ year of related experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence and drive changes in processes and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Power BI is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software is preferred.
- Adaptable and comfortable working across different technical areas.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (technical and non-technical).
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing experience (assembly or industrial environment) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools or data-driven technologies to support process improvement and decision-making is a plus.
