About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical support for pre-sales activities related to utility-scale and commercial/industrial battery energy storage projects
- Ensure smooth transition of technical information, supplier relationships, and customer interactions to project execution team as part of post-sale activities
- Develop system configurations, preliminary designs, and technical proposals based on customer requirements, site conditions, and project constraints
- Perform system sizing, energy modeling, and performance analysis to support solution optimization and commercial bids
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Service teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with business goals
- Support customer meetings, technical presentations, and proposal reviews, serving as a subject matter expert on BESS architecture, controls, safety, and integration
- Review and interpret single-line diagrams, site layouts, equipment specifications, and interconnection requirements
- Assist with technical due diligence, risk identification, and mitigation strategies for project opportunities
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues during project development, deployment, commissioning, and operations
- Contribute to the development of standard engineering tools, templates, and best practices to improve proposal quality and turnaround time
- Stay current on industry standards, codes, regulations, and emerging technologies related to battery storage, power conversion systems, and grid integration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering preferred
- 5+ years of experience in application engineering, systems engineering, power systems, renewable energy, or battery storage
- Strong understanding of utility-scale BESS architecture, including batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear, controls, and protection systems
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical sales or project development activities
- Ability to analyze technical requirements and translate them into practical system solutions
- Proficiency with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and performance modeling tools
