About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical support for pre-sales activities related to battery energy storage projects
- Ensure smooth transition of technical information to project execution team
- Develop system configurations, preliminary designs, and technical proposals
- Perform system sizing, energy modeling, and performance analysis
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Service teams
- Support customer meetings, technical presentations, and proposal reviews
- Review and interpret single-line diagrams, site layouts, equipment specifications
- Assist with technical due diligence and mitigation strategies
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues
- Contribute to the development of standard engineering tools and best practices
- Stay current on industry standards and emerging technologies related to battery storage.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering preferred
- Strong understanding of utility-scale BESS architecture, including batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear, controls, and protection systems.
- 5+ years of experience in application engineering, systems engineering, power systems, renewable energy, or battery storage
- Experience with grid interconnection studies, SCADA, EMS, PPC, or utility coordination.
- Familiarity with UL, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 855, and other applicable standards and codes.
- Knowledge of energy markets, ancillary services, and utility-scale project economics.
