About the role

  • Support our energy management system within the Energy Management and Market Solutions (EMMS) group
  • Work closely with real-time control centers and business departments to maintain accurate configurations and system information within the energy management system
  • Develop, support, and quality control of energy management system applications and energy market network and financial system models
  • Design, develop, document, implement, and support solutions for control center and related business requirements
  • Discover and analyze issues with energy management system configuration and data as well as SCADA communications and field equipment as necessary
  • Analyze error conditions, identify potential causes of problems, utilize root cause analysis techniques, and look for multiple solutions to expedite resolution
  • Full stack software development of energy management system applications and system configurations
  • Write/review documentation to describe configuration processes, logic, and test plans
  • Accountable for developing scope, estimation, and tracking time and resources expended on projects
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, MIS, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering is required
  • Other bachelor’s degrees will be considered based on related IT experience
  • Successful completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Strong technical understanding of application development practices and strong analytical skills
  • Strong customer service skills to act as a liaison between IT and business clients
  • Coding experience utilizing Microsoft’s VB.Net or .Net platform
  • Relational database knowledge, such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Ability to present technical information to non-technical users both in small and large groups
  • Ability to understand technical environments to support the energy management system
  • Ability to collect and analyze data in order to figure out the root cause for issues
