About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape, integrate, and execute First West’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and social impact agenda
  • Translate strategic ESG commitments into practical actions, tools, and processes
  • Lead or support the implementation of ESG initiatives across all areas of the business
  • Design, manage, and support social impact initiatives including financial inclusion, community impact, and social enterprise programs
  • Develop and maintain ESG data analytics and impact measurement systems
  • Prepare ESG disclosures and reporting aligned with frameworks and relevant banking regulations
  • Work cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, HR, and Business teams
  • Continuously improve ESG metrics, tools, and reporting processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, finance, economics, business, public policy, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in community investment, nonprofit, or corporate social responsibility roles
  • 4–7 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, social impact, or responsible banking (financial services strongly preferred).
  • Solid understanding of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and regulatory expectations in banking.
  • Experience working with ESG data, metrics, and reporting processes.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong ethical judgment and commitment to responsible banking.
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
