About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all financial operations across the company’s real estate portfolio
  • Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Coordinate closely with external accountants and tax professionals
  • Monitor and improve internal controls, financial processes, and reporting accuracy
  • Oversee bookkeeping functions and ensure day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly
  • Analyze property-level financial performance and provide operational insights to ownership
  • Support strategic planning, acquisitions, refinancing activities, and portfolio growth initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience in accounting and finance leadership roles within real estate, property management, or real estate development environments
  • Strong understanding of real estate financial operations, reporting, and asset management
  • Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting and coordinating with external accounting firms
  • Background working in smaller or entrepreneurial organizations preferred
  • Yardi experience is considered a strong asset, though not mandatory
  • Demonstrated career stability and strong tenure in previous roles is highly important
  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with ownership and senior stakeholders
  • Self-directed, dependable, and comfortable in a flexible, less corporate environment.
