About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee all financial operations across the company’s real estate portfolio
Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Coordinate closely with external accountants and tax professionals
Monitor and improve internal controls, financial processes, and reporting accuracy
Oversee bookkeeping functions and ensure day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly
Analyze property-level financial performance and provide operational insights to ownership
Support strategic planning, acquisitions, refinancing activities, and portfolio growth initiatives
Assist with banking relationships, lender reporting, and financing documentation
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and audit preparation
Participate in operational and administrative oversight within the office as needed
Work collaboratively with ownership in a highly visible and trusted leadership capacity

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant experience in accounting and finance leadership roles within real estate, property management, or real estate development environments
Strong understanding of real estate financial operations, reporting, and asset management
Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting and coordinating with external accounting firms
Background working in smaller or entrepreneurial organizations preferred
Yardi experience is considered a strong asset, though not mandatory
Demonstrated career stability and strong tenure in previous roles is highly important
Hands-on mentality with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with ownership and senior stakeholders
Self-directed, dependable, and comfortable in a flexible, less corporate environment.
