About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

As a Server Manager, you are part of the central Digital Services division of WBS GRUPPE and actively help shape the digital education landscape.
Together with your team, you maintain and optimize our server environments and contribute to the introduction of new solutions.
Operation, administration and further development of servers (Windows and Linux).
Planning, implementation and commissioning of systems and services.
Ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Provisioning and configuration of hardware, software and access rights.
Troubleshooting and documentation in German.
Escalation management for incidents and outages.
Collaborating with internal teams to continuously optimize and standardize the server landscape.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed IT training, degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience (career changers welcome).
Strong knowledge of Windows (10/11, Server 2016–2025) and Linux (preferably Debian).
Experience operating, planning and commissioning IT systems and services.
Very good knowledge of Active Directory (including GPO, DNS, Sites & Services, trusts).
Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere), backup (Veeam), Microsoft Terminal Servers and ideally PKI.
Experience with monitoring systems (e.g. PRTG) and a basic understanding of networking and IT security.
Fluent German language skills.
