About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set the clinical services strategy, aligning clinical operations, client outcomes, and product performance with organizational goals
- Lead clinical adoption, optimization, and value realization of clinical products and services
- Influence product direction and roadmap planning through clinical insight, client feedback, workflow analysis, and performance trends
- Partner with Product, Technology, Data Science, and Operations teams on products, tools, and workflows
- Identify best practices, recommend process enhancements, and advance scalable solutions
- Serve as an internal and external clinical thought leader
- Analyze client workflows, documentation patterns, adoption metrics, and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities
- Evaluate clinical and system outputs for intended use, regulatory and operational expectations, and business outcomes
- Translate business strategy into functional plans, priorities, and execution guidance
- Lead resolution of complex client, operational, and product-related issues
- Serve as an escalation point for significant client concerns and drive cross-functional resolution
- Develop action plans for emerging challenges, adoption, and service performance
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies supporting client success, retention, and growth
- Establish strategic plans, objectives, and implementation approaches with senior leadership
- Make execution decisions and ensure operational effectiveness
- Build long-term relationships with clients, decision-makers, and key partners
- Communicate client health, business risks, mitigation strategies, and performance insights to leadership
- Collaborate across departments to improve processes and client experience
- Coach teams in exceptional service and client-facing interactions
- Direct functional areas through lower-level management and/or senior individual contributors
- Lead, develop, and coach team members
- Establish expectations, monitor performance, and drive accountability
- Oversee programs and processes supporting adoption, risk mitigation, retention, renewal, and expansion
- May oversee functional budgets, resource allocation, staffing strategy, and operational planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSN required
- Typically, 10+ years of clinical specialty experience in an acute care environment, including progressive leadership responsibility and cross-functional collaboration
- Demonstrated people leadership, team development, and staff management through change, performance expectations, and strategic priorities
- Experience in hospital-based clinical operations, utilization management, utilization review, clinical documentation improvement, or a related clinical-services environment
- Experience contributing to program strategy, goal setting, workflow optimization, and performance improvement initiatives
- Strong executive presence, client-facing communication, presentation, and organizational influence skills
- Experience managing complex issues, concurrent priorities, and stakeholder escalations
- Strong persuasion and relationship-management skills for guiding clients and teams through change and conflicting priorities
- Ability to travel up to 50% based on client and business needs
- For CDI-focused roles: CCDS, CCS, or CDIP preferred
- For UM-focused roles: CCM or ACM preferred
- Experience with healthcare technology or AI-enabled platforms preferred
- Master’s degree in nursing preferred
- Registered Nurse mentioned in preferred qualifications
