About the role
- Oversee accounting operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Implement and maintain accounting systems and processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with all departments of the business to understand how the business operates and define best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Prior Manufacturing experience, including inventory management and product costing, is required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems with experience in NetSuite preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis.
- Direct experience in managing external audits with third-party CPA firms.
- Experience with managing and directing external audit and tax partnerships.
- Experience with 1099s and addressing other state and local tax compliance matters.
