About the role
- Independently conduct comprehensive, end-to-end research projects involving state and federal laws, regulations, and guidance governing residential mortgage lending.
- Assist in the review and preparation of contracts, leases, real estate documents, correspondence, and other legal papers of a routine nature.
- Research and analyze relevant statues, rulings and precedents to be used as a basis for answering requests for legal opinions of a routine or limited scope.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents necessary for litigation.
- Assist with classification of executed agreements, capturing key metadata (counter-party, renewal triggers, risk flags), and upload finalized documents to company’s contract lifecycle repository; Leverage workflow automations and validation checkpoints to ensure each record is audit-ready, searchable, and aligned with retention policies.
- Perform general clerical duties (i.e. record keeping, opening and closing files, organizing mail, filing, preparing mailings, memorandums, etc.)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and currently enrolled and in good standing at an ABA-approved law school
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Prior experience with legal software such as LegalFiles, AllRegs, and Westlaw.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations relative to work.
