Sports Marketing Manager
waterdrop®Sports Marketing Manager developing and executing global sports marketing strategy for waterdrop®. Managing athlete partnerships and cross-sport opportunities in a hybrid role.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the development and execution of our global sports marketing strategy, with a strong focus on athlete partnerships, tennis activations, and selected cross-sport opportunities.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with our athletes, ambassadors, agencies, tournaments, clubs, academies, and other sports partners, ensuring smooth communication and strong collaboration.
- Coordinate athlete activations across campaigns, events, content productions, product launches, social media, PR, retail, and e-commerce, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and deliverables are executed on time.
- Support the planning and implementation of sports partnerships, including contract coordination, rights management, product seeding, event presence, branding opportunities, hospitality, and on-site activations.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Brand, Communications, Social Media, Product, Retail, E-Commerce, Sales, Legal, and Operations to bring sports partnerships to life in a brand-relevant and commercially meaningful way.
- Help identify new athletes, events, clubs, academies, and partnership opportunities that strengthen waterdrop®’s position in tennis and other relevant sports communities.
- Track partnership performance, prepare internal updates, collect learnings, and support reporting on visibility, engagement, content output, sales potential, and overall brand impact.
- Ensure that all athlete and partner collaborations reflect the brand’s values, visual identity, and long-term ambition to become a leading hydration brand in sport.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional experience in sports marketing, athlete management, sponsorship, event management, brand partnerships, or a similar field.
- Strong understanding of the sports industry, ideally with experience in tennis, athlete partnerships, tournaments, or sports activations.
- Highly organized and confident managing multiple projects, stakeholders, deadlines, and moving parts at the same time.
- Strong communicator and enjoy building relationships with athletes, agents, partners, and internal teams.
- Hands-on mindset and comfortable moving between strategic planning and operational execution.
- Commercially aware and understand how sports partnerships can drive brand visibility, content, community, retail, and sales opportunities.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
- Good eye for brand fit, athlete positioning, content opportunities, and how partnerships should show up across different touchpoints.
- Fluent in English; German or other languages are a plus.
- Passionate about sports, wellness, hydration, and building meaningful partnerships that connect brand, athletes, and communities.
