About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Obtain insurance information and counsel patients on alternative financial assistance options
  • Communicate with physicians and clinical staff regarding urgent or referred patient scheduling requests
  • Schedule and register patients by phone or email, including demographic and insurance data collection
  • Review and update new-patient schedules
  • Call patients with appointment reminders and obtain insurance information and referral forms
  • Process internal physician referrals for clinical care
  • Explain billing processes to patients and staff
  • Answer inquiries from patients and third-party payers
  • Assist with basic account maintenance activities
  • Assist patients with insurance questions regarding billing
  • Send reminder cards and perform other scheduling duties
  • Work with Relatient patient reminder system results and contact patients or make scheduling changes
  • Make daily edits and temporary changes to provider scheduling templates based on physician input
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • No specific certification/professional license is required
  • A driver's license is not required
  • Ability to obtain insurance information and referral forms
  • Ability to counsel patients regarding financial assistance and insurance questions
  • Ability to schedule and register patients by phone or email
