About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Convey patient findings and recommendations to providers
  • Coordinate patient care and assist providers with entering treatment/therapy plans in EMR
  • Order diagnostic testing and convey findings to providers
  • Coordinate patient appointments and assist with outside referrals
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and other direct patient-care processes
  • Perform nursing administrative duties related to environmental safety, infection control, and quality assurance
  • Facilitate communication and coordination of care among patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Educate patients and families about medications, procedures, and care continuity, including possible initial chemotherapy teaching
  • Onboard new coordinators
  • Review EPIC treatment plans for new order sets and clinical trials
  • Serve as Epic Trainer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel to various on- and off-campus locations as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate Degree In Nursing Or Diploma In Registered Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Three years of clinical nurse coordinator experience
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act
  • Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment
  • Online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple patient cases and treatment plans simultaneously
  • Experience coordinating complex patient care and navigating treatment protocols
  • Previous OB/GYN experience preferred
  • Fertility treatment coordination experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates with gynecologic oncology or other women's health nursing backgrounds are encouraged to apply
