About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform insurance follow-up billing and collection duties across financial classifications to ensure timely and accurate payment of physician charges
- Review patient accounts for accurate insurance, eligibility, invoice resolution, correspondence, remittances, additional information requests, and appropriate handling
- Use Epic, system tools, and payer websites for claim submission, claim status, attachments, eligibility, and authorization/referral inquiries
- Meet Quality Assurance and meaningful efficiency standards for daily invoice/account work
- Follow departmental best practices for one-touch resolution
- Interact with management and staff to discuss issues
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor and/or manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
- 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping/accounting and/or medical collection setting
- Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily
- External candidates receiving an offer must complete pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and applicable checks, drug screen, employment and education or licensure/certification verification, physical examination, vaccinations and/or governmental registry checks
- No specific certification/professional license required
- Driver's license not required
