About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform and document comprehensive patient and family assessments
- Collect and analyze medical-record data to coordinate patient care
- Provide direct pediatric patient care, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, administering medications and vaccines, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status
- Provide counseling and education to patients and families about disease processes and symptom management
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Consult with healthcare-team members and adjust nursing-care processes to ensure optimal outcomes
- Manage supplies and equipment using cost-effective work habits
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, prescription refills, and other direct-care processes
- Participate in quality-improvement activities
- Contribute professionally through presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committee participation, community service, publications, or professional-organization leadership
- Support care at West County (CSCC), Graham Road, and Shiloh, IL sites as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Registered Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, with a skills assessment component
- Two years of clinical specialty experience
- Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the working area, if applicable
- Advanced clinical skills such as PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, or Bone Marrow Biopsy
- Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations where applicable
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or M.S. in Nursing
- Preferred: Three years of nursing experience
- Preferred skills include ACLS, Bone Marrow Biopsy, Clinical Care, Electronic Health Records, Emergency Care, Epic EHR, HIPAA Regulations, IV Infusions, Medical Oncology, Medical Record Reviews, PALS, Pediatrics, Renal Nursing, and Vital Signs
- External candidates receiving an offer must complete applicable pre-employment screening, which may include criminal background, drug screen, employment and education/licensure verification, physical examination, vaccinations, and governmental registry checks
