About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide reporting, budgeting, analytical, and accounting support to the Department of Anesthesiology
  • Assist business directors and management with financial and accounting functions under GAAP and University policies
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain complex cost data for quarter-end and year-end financial reporting
  • Interpret and explain financial results to peers and leadership
  • Participate in annual strategic planning and budgeting
  • Provide project management for unique and ongoing initiatives
  • Produce standard and ad hoc reports, variance analyses, and benchmarking information
  • Determine reporting needs and create frequently requested departmental reports
  • Assist with complex financial models, financial reports, and reporting systems
  • Respond to special requests and projects
  • Identify, gather, assess, and analyze decision-support data
  • Incorporate data and ideas into formal or informal reports and present issue resolutions
  • Remain educated in new applications to ensure effective information delivery
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Operation Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Work with GAAP and University accounting policies and procedures
  • Preferred: 4 years of professional accounting experience
  • Preferred CPA certification options from AICPA, Illinois, or Missouri
  • Analytical thinking and data assessment
  • Decision making and deadline management
  • Microsoft Office and spreadsheets
