About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepares and maintains exam rooms
- Prepares charts, obtains reports and records
- Assists with patient flow in the clinical office
- Interacts directly with patients and completes tasks such as obtaining vital signs and conducting EKGs
- Completes necessary paperwork and documentation timely
- Monitors supply inventory and ensures compliance with regulations
- Maintains required HIPAA compliance and participates in continuing education and cross-training programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
- Basic Life Support certification from either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Relevant experience in medical assisting for 3 years
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with six months of related work experience
- Ability to show proof of a Medical Assistant certification/registration with successful completion of certification exam within six months of hire date
