About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform insurance follow-up billing and collection duties on various financial classifications to ensure timely and accurate payment of physician charges
  • Review patient accounts to verify information including insurance, eligibility, invoice resolution, correspondence, and requests for additional information
  • Utilize Epic, system tools, and payer websites for claim submission, status, attachments, eligibility, and inquiry
  • Make collection calls to insurance companies and/or patients
  • Contact insurance companies regarding posting payments and collection agencies about payment reports
  • Support customer service unit in answering billing and collection questions
  • Assist with training new staff and special projects
  • Consistently meet Quality Assurance standards and work efficiency metrics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
  • 3 years of work experience in Billing or Insurance
  • Skills: Claims Resolution, Collections Strategies, Computer Literacy, Confidential Data Handling, Epic EHR, Health Insurance Billing, Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), ICD-10 Procedure Coding System, Insurance Follow Up, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Terminology, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Office Equipment, Team Leadership, Telephone Communications
