About the role
- Provides technical leadership and oversight for the modernization of the Office of Technology Management’s (OTM) intellectual property database and reporting systems.
- Directs the full project lifecycle—from requirements definition to final implementation, ensuring that new systems align with OTM’s strategic goals while being delivered within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Builds consensus across a diverse stakeholder landscape and manages external vendor relationships to navigate complex technical transitions.
- Provides interim administrative support and functional oversight for the OTM Salesforce CRM environment.
- Leverages deep experience and independent judgment to provide structure to technical ambiguity, facilitate project execution across departments, and ensure long-term system continuity and data integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
- Relevant Experience (4 Years).
- Professional Longevity: Seven years or more of experience in IT, with at least three years specifically within a University, Legal Tech, or Research-intensive environment.
- Domain Expertise: Prior experience in a Technology Transfer Office or Intellectual Property (IP) management environment is highly desirable.
- System Modernization: Proven track record of successfully leading at least one major CRM or Enterprise database implementation/migration (e.g., Salesforce, Workday, or proprietary IP systems).
- Technical Stewardship: Experience with Data Migration & ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, MuleSoft, or Dataloader.io) and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Institutional Knowledge: Experience navigating the complexities of a large, consensus-driven enterprise or higher education institution.
