About the role
- Perform insurance follow-up billing and collection duties on various financial classifications
- Review patient accounts to verify the accuracy of information
- Utilize Epic and payer websites for claim submission and status inquiries
- Make collection calls to insurance companies and patients
- Contact insurance companies for payment posting
- Support customer service unit with billing and collection questions
- Assist with training new staff
- Meet Quality Assurance standards for working invoices
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification
- 3 years of experience in billing or insurance
- Skills: Claims Resolution, Collections Strategies, Communication, Computer Literacy, Confidential Data Handling, Epic EHR, Health Insurance Billing, Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), ICD-10 Procedure Coding System, Insurance Follow Up, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Terminology, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Office Equipment, Team Leadership, Telephone Communications
