About the role

  • Management of operational procedures, processes and applications to support Student Accounting activities
  • Troubleshoot issues to resolution
  • Identify efficiencies and work with director on implementation
  • Recognize potential risks and ensure strong internal controls are maintained
  • Facilitate and implement systems development and enhancements
  • Manage student financial activity via Workday to 16,000 students
  • Manage payments: online, credit cards, 529 Plans, wires, checks, etc.
  • Oversee Student Installment Payment Plans (1,600 per academic period)
  • Manage daily student refunds
  • Manage student accounts receivables ($600M+), related soft collections
  • Prepare, review and approve journals and account reconciliations
  • Compile and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies and standard operating procedures to support best practices and a strong internal control environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Relevant Experience (5 Years)
  • No specific certification/professional license required
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • Preferred: Master's degree
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Missouri Division of Professional Registration
