About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients within specialty certification and collaborative practice requirements
Provide direct patient care, including patient history, assessments, diagnostic studies, preventive care, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions
Develop and implement patient-centered care plans with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, and ancillary providers
Manage health conditions through prescriptive authority or referral to healthcare providers and community resources
Perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations
Provide counseling and education to patients and families/caregivers
Maintain accurate medical records and required reports, records, and statistics
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment
Provide management services for clinical research study projects, including subject monitoring, medication administration, and education
Follow departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards
Participate in quality improvement and process improvement activities
Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, in-service meetings, and workshops
Work primarily in outpatient clinic visits with occasional inpatient support as needed
Collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians and multidisciplinary clinical staff to care for complex, high-risk pregnancies

Requirements

What you’ll need

M.S.N. - Master Of Science In Nursing - Nurse Practitioner
APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire
Acceptable APN licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or Missouri Division of Professional Registration
Certified Nurse Practitioner licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or Missouri Division of Professional Registration
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Online Basic Life Support certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient
Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty
No specific work experience is required
