About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support outpatient pediatric multi-specialty clinics
- Provide specialized patient care and education for patients receiving treatments and examinations in a medical office
- Perform and document comprehensive patient/family assessments
- Collect and analyze medical-record data to coordinate patient care
- Direct or provide patient care, including medication administration, procedures, and patient-status monitoring
- Counsel and educate patients and families regarding disease processes and symptom management
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Consult with healthcare team members and adjust nursing care processes to optimize outcomes
- Demonstrate cost-effective work habits and manage supplies and equipment
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, prescription refills, and direct-care processes
- Participate in quality-improvement activities
- Contribute professionally through presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committees, community service, research or professional publications, and professional-organization leadership
- Perform other specialty-specific duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate Degree In Nursing Or Diploma In Registered Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable
- Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act
- Basic Life Support certification; online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component are insufficient
- Advanced clinical skills, such as PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, or Bone Marrow Biopsy
- 2 years of clinical specialty experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or M.S. in Nursing
- Preferred: 3 years of nursing experience
- Knowledge or experience with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Bone Marrow Biopsy, Clinical Care, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Emergency Care, Emergency Situations, Epic EHR, General Nursing, HIPAA Regulations, IV Infusions, Medical Oncology, Medical Record Reviews, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pediatrics, Renal Nursing, and Vital Signs
- Must complete pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and applicable other checks, drug screen, employment and education or licensure/certification verification, physical examination, vaccinations and/or governmental registry checks
