About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct patient care, including obtaining histories, performing assessments, and conducting examinations
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies
- Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care
- Treat and manage acute and chronic disease conditions
- Develop and implement patient-centered care plans with physicians and other care providers
- Manage health conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals
- Perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations
- Bill for services covered by collaborative practice agreement when applicable
- Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers
- Maintain accurate medical records and required reports, records, and statistics
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment
- Provide management services for clinical research study projects and monitor participating subjects
- Follow departmental, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
- Participate in quality and process improvement activities
- Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, meetings, and workshops
- Maintain an independent ambulatory clinic schedule averaging 18–20 patients per day
- Split coverage between Barnes West County Hospital and the Center for Advanced Medicine
Requirements
What you’ll need- M.S.N. - Master Of Science In Nursing - Nurse Practitioner
- APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire
- Basic Life Support certification; online certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient
- Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty
- Prior urology experience preferred
- No specific work experience is required
- Driver's license is not required
