About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct patient care, including obtaining histories, performing assessments, and conducting examinations
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies
Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care
Treat and manage acute and chronic disease conditions
Develop and implement patient-centered care plans with physicians and other care providers
Manage health conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals
Perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations
Bill for services covered by collaborative practice agreement when applicable
Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers
Maintain accurate medical records and required reports, records, and statistics
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment
Provide management services for clinical research study projects and monitor participating subjects
Follow departmental, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
Participate in quality and process improvement activities
Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, meetings, and workshops
Maintain an independent ambulatory clinic schedule averaging 18–20 patients per day
Split coverage between Barnes West County Hospital and the Center for Advanced Medicine

Requirements

What you’ll need

M.S.N. - Master Of Science In Nursing - Nurse Practitioner
APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire
Basic Life Support certification; online certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient
Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty
Prior urology experience preferred
No specific work experience is required
Driver's license is not required
