About the role
- Perform advanced billing and collection activities
- May act as a Lead IBC Assistant
- Make collection calls, verifying accuracy and completeness of claims
- Contact insurance companies and collection agencies to expedite payments
- Handle discounts, adjustments and charge corrections
- Perform collection follow-up on specific financial classifications like commercial insurance and self-pay
- Respond to questions and requests from insurance companies
- Support customer service unit in answering billing and collection questions
- Act as back-up support for Accounts Receivable staff during peak times
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
- Billing or insurance experience (3 years)
- No specific certification is required
- Post-secondary education (2 years) preferred
- Skills: Collections Strategies, Communication, Computer Literacy, Confidential Data Handling, Medical Terminology, Office Equipment, Telephone System
- Driver's license not required.
