About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in conjunction with the assigned Sales Consultant to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
- Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new medical and specialty business through agents and brokers
- Support broker inquiries and cover duties while the Sales Consultant is out
- Recruit and engage new brokers to place group medical and specialty business through Warner Pacific
- Conduct broker training seminars and webinars
- Assist agents with marketing activities
- Maintain frequent and effective broker contact and build active selling relationships
- Liaise with product specialists to increase specialty-market awareness and identify brokers with sales potential
- Prospect new or inactive brokers and make outbound and follow-up sales calls
- Handle inbound sales calls, email inquiries, and product-support questions from brokers
- Identify workflow enhancements and communicate them to the supervisor
- Record sales activity in Salesforce CRM, including conversations, meetings, emails, and quote requests
- Demonstrate outstanding judgment, honesty, and integrity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent; advanced education or degree preferred
- 3-5 years of health care/medical sales experience preferred
- 2-3 years proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Preferred experience tracking sales activity in CRM tool
- Preferred resident of Southern California
- Valid California life/health insurance license
- Ability to think/act independently
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication, as well as experienced presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and foster positive, open communication channels with internal and external customers
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of market factors, carriers, plans, benefits and guidelines in the California insurance landscape and Affordable Care Act
- Evolving understanding of level-funded, self-funding and OOS dynamics
