About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the writing team in developing compelling narratives
- Partner closely with the Game Director to define and execute the narrative vision
- Understand the strengths, interests, and development needs of individual writers
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to writers
- Establish and uphold narrative standards, tone, voice, and storytelling principles
- Write and edit dialogue, cinematics, lore, quests, character barks, and on-screen text
- Review and edit the work of other writers
- Collaborate closely with design, art, cinematics, audio, mission, combat, production, marketing, QA, and executive teams
- Identify and resolve communication challenges
- Participate in motion capture and voice-over sessions as necessary
- Oversee the daily work of assigned staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 8 years of professional game writing experience
- At least 1 year in a leadership role leading narrative teams
- Proven experience writing narrative content for games
- Deep understanding of narrative design principles
- Excellent writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience working with established IPs and franchise partners
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong understanding of the game development process from concept through ship
